Place of Origin | German Sherphreds of course as the name entails hail from Germany. These dogs were bred for herding sheep and were developed by Max von Stephanitz in 1899. The German Sheperd is now commonly used in many ways of service such as military use and companion dogs. |

Common Size & Weight | Male German Shepherds are typically 60-65 cm in height or 24-26 inches and weigh 30-40 kgs or 66-88 lbs. While female German Sheperds tend to be 50-60 cm or 22-24 inches while weighing 22-32 kg or 49-71 lbs. |
Temperament | German Sheperds are known for their courage in hard situations. Due to their history of being herding dogs, they tend to be very loyal and noble to their owners. They tend to have high energy, along with high intellegence. Which surprisingly makes them very sweet and good family dogs and good to have around children as well. If you get one of these dogs, its highly recommended that you train them as to get the most out of your German Sheperd. |
