Calico
The Calico breed of cats are quite iconic! Being one of the first things people think of when they say "internet cat" or something alike. Having similar popularity to the Shiba Inu, the Calico's coat along with iconic traits is what set it apart from breeds such as the shorthair, or even the Maine Coon cat!
Place of Origin | The Calico breed originates from Egypt. Their orange mutant gene is speculated to have traced to port cities along the Mediterranean Sea, in places such as France, Greece, Italy, and Spain. |

Common Size & Weight | Regardless of gender, Calicos tend to weigh around 7-12 lbs or 3-5 kgs. And their average height is 8-16 inches or 20-30 cm in height. |
Temperament | Typically, Calico cats are usually female. As male Calico's are actually sterile and considered "defective" almost. Thus Calico's are primarily a female species and due to that, they're on a bit of an aggressive breed. They tend to be spunky, and assertive. They don't require constant attention, but that doesn't make it any less loyal or loving for the entire family as well. In fact, Calico's are beloved house cats by many. |
